Dr. Álvaro Arrieta is a hospitality professional with international experience across Europe and Latin America. He is currently a faculty member at CETT Barcelona School of Tourism, Hospitality and Gastronomy, where he combines academic teaching with applied research and industry collaboration.Álvaro’s research focuses on open innovation, sustainability, and the role of Living Labs as transformative platforms for the future of the hospitality industry, both as learning ecosystems and as catalysts for addressing complex societal challenges. His work explores how experimentation, co-creation and evidence based design can improve decision making and enhance the impact of hospitality spaces.
