Nansy Kouroupi is an academic and commercial marketing leader operating where hospitality education, destination competitiveness, and digital transformation meet. She is Academic Programme Leader and Faculty Lecturer for the BSc International Hospitality and Tourism Management programme within the Tourism School of Metropolitan College in Greece, and serves as Lecturer and Research Associate at Les Roches Global Hospitality Education in Switzerland. She also contributes to international teaching across Glion Institute of Higher Education in Switzerland and UNICAF University in Cyprus, bringing a consistently applied, industry facing approach into the classroom. She is a PhD researcher in the Department of Economics at the University of Thessaly and is connected to the Laboratory of Economic Policy and Strategic Planning. Her research focuses on how immersive and AI enabled experiences can reshape tourism development, consumer behaviour, and destination branding in the metaverse era, linking academic insight with practical relevance for destinations and tourism organisations. With more than 20 years of commercial experience across service industries, including transportation, retail, MICE, and tourism, Nansy brings a sales minded, performance oriented lens to marketing and partnership building. Her background includes senior marketing and B2B sales leadership, with demonstrated experience in scaling subscription-based services and strengthening customer acquisition and retention through marketing strategies. She also maintains active links with the Greek Tourism Confederation, (SETE), supporting credible connection points between tourism industry priorities and the academic community. Nansy is also Co Founder and Managing Director of Salina Villas and Residences in Volos, Greece, an award winning hospitality brand recognised with a Silver award in the “City Stay Experience” category at the Greek Tourism Awards 2025, bringing hands on, operational understanding of guest experience, service design, and market positioning.
